To keep my creative juices flowing over the winter months I taught myself how to illustrate. I purchased a Wacom tablet and have been drawing cars for many years. Previously, I had only used Adobe Illustrator to design logos and icons for web applications. Drawing a car takes a fair amount of time but it's a great way to pass the time on a snowy winter day.
Learning Illustrator has also given me a way to design t-shirts and other products for myself and others. Why wear someone else's design when you can design your own.
I started pretty late with photography. I had just sold my pro drag car but still wanted to be involved in the car community. Being artsy I figured I could do this, so I purchased my first camera and spent 12 years as an automotive photographer.
Over the years this allowed me to find my style of photography as I became more fluent with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
I was the lead photographer for several automotive events and groups with several publications. It was an awesome hobby, it mixed two of my passions together.
In 2018 I stopped actively doing events and now only occasionally snap a few pictures for myself or friends.
Over the years I have tried and failed over and over trying to come up with something people would want to wear. I have done designs for others in the automotive industry with success but most do not know it was me.
After purchasing my Porsche Cayman, I started coming up with ideas that maybe other Porsche owners would want. Key Goes On The Left launched in 2019 and has been my best selling design. You never know what lands until you ship it.
